**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 389 is. We know that 100% of 389 is, well, just 389.**Step 2:**If 100% of 389 is 389, then we can get 1% of 389 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 389 / 100. This is equal to 3.89. Now we know that 1% is 3.89.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 389 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 3.89 times 1 = 3.89. That's all there is to it!
