Explanation: to remember the first six straight-chain dicarboxylic acids
The P from “Pie” in the mnemonic stands for Pimelic Acid, not Picric Acid. Pimelic acid is heptanedioic acid (IUPAC) while Picric Acid is 2,4,6-trinitrophenol, and is explosive.
