Calculating the percent of a number is simple, but can be a bit tricky if you aren't careful. Luckily, it only requires a few basic operations to get to the solution: multiplication and division. So, how did we get to the solution that 1 percent of 381 = 3.81?

**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 381 is. We know that 100% of 381 is, well, just 381.**Step 2:**If 100% of 381 is 381, then we can get 1% of 381 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 381 / 100. This is equal to 3.81. Now we know that 1% is 3.81.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 381 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 3.81 times 1 = 3.81. That's all there is to it!
