Explanation: To remember which number is the Numerator or the Denominator when working with fractions.
- Numerator Divided (by) Denominator when reading or converting fractions.

3/53 divided by 5 = 0.6
- Hint: the decimal six-tenths is equivalent to three-fifths.
- Students tend to divide the LARGER # by the SMALLER number and commonly miss these types of items.
- Also, I teach my students to automatically “annex 0’s” by writing the understood decimal, placing it on the quotient bar directly above and then annexing at least two zeros.
