Explanation
PCMCIA is an acronym for Personal Computer Memory Card International Association. It also has been known as Peripheral Component Microchannel Interconnect Architecture (by IBM). Typically they are simply referred to as PC Cards. The first letter of each word gives you the first letter of what it stands for.
